What a fantastic day had by all at our most recent annual Chestfield Golf Day. Held on what turned out to be the hottest day of the year, the cold beers on the course certainly went down a treat. In fact, they had to be topped up numerous times!
We had 72 golfers making a nice simple shotgun start the order of the day. With a 09:15 tee time everyone had time to stock upo on raffle tickets, mulligans as well as a bacon roll, coffee and obligitory large brandy!
Everyone enjoyed themselves with the general consensus being the course was in the best condition it has ever been in with the greens lightening fast and true. We captured everyone between the 18th and 1st for a game of velrco golf bullseye, this itself helped add over £700 to our total for the day. We gave away a four ball voucher to our highest bullseye scorer and some balls to second place.
In the main event competition we saw some great scores with the winner come in with 45 points (Matt Verrall playing off 12), and the team prize going to SLS winning by countback on 93 points narrowly beating The Pepper Greenhouse with the same score.
We held an exciting auction as well as our raffle and was delighted with the overall result on the day of making £13.5K for the charity.
I'm sure there were a lot of sore heads in the morning and I can vouch for some extreme tan lines!
Massive thanks to everyone that attended, donated, sponsored us or helped in anyway. We love you all!.
Heres to the next one :-)
