Words from his mum “I just want to say a massive thank-you to the Red Eagle Foundation for our new disability pushchair”.
This is Teddy, he's just turned 3 and he has a diagnosis of autism (non-verbal) and developmental delay. He has no danger awareness and he runs everywhere.
Due to him being tall we were worried about going out and about as he was growing quickly out of normal buggy and could get out of it no matter how we did the straps, and we also have another disabled child so we needed Teddy to be completely safe when going out as a family.
We found out about the Red Eagle Foundation through a website that helps with special needs pushchairs. It was very daunting for us as we didn't have a clue about any special need pushchairs or what Ted needed, and then we looked at the price which was even more of a shock!
The Red Eagle Foundation couldn't have been more helpful even with the application form it was so easily and then within 5 days we got an email back to say we could have the pushchair we needed for Teddy and we couldn't have been more pleased!
Thank you will never be enough; it literally is a lifeline for us because now he is completely safe. Ted rocks the buggy and, in the past, they have gone over at times but this one he can rock away because it’s so sturdy and well made it won't be going anywhere.
The straps are done as like a little harness and he cannot get out of them. His feet don't drag on the floor or get stuck in wheels.
And even though it’s a big sturdy pushchair that will last many years it fits in the boot of the car perfectly!
I am so grateful to The Red Eagle Foundation they will never know just how.
They have given our days out as a family back. Many people have said to us just how comfy he looks.
